DECORATE

How to purify gases from sulfur components

Project description

This project involves the development of a catalyst that is metal-free and has a carbon-based coating.

The chemical, oil and gas industries produce hydrogen sulphide, which is a deadly toxic gas, and to reprocess these effluents, the gases are depolluted by specific reprocessing units using catalysts.

The added value of the DECORATE catalyst lies in its specific support and coating. As a result, it is expected to be more resistant to weathering and will be more easily recyclable and regenerable. Metal catalysts are more sensitive and are not easily recyclable.

Why does Conectus invest in this project?

Conectus' financial investment has made it possible to:
- improve synthesis and test the catalyst at different gas concentrations to increase the selectivity of the catalyst. At the end of these steps, the laboratory will be able to respond to all the problems of industrialists.
- carry out further tests on catalyst regeneration
- test directly within an industry.

At the origin of the project:

Cuong Pham-Huu, Director of Research at the Institute of Chemistry and Processes for Energy, Environment and Health ICPEES (Unistra-CNRS) and co-developed with an Italian team from ICCOM in Florence.

Focus

Conectus is investing in this project: 360 400 €.
Duration: 18 months
