PIKI & CO
Description:
Drawing on the latest innovations in the social sciences, Piki & Co helps develop the skills essential for life in society. On the one hand, the skills needed to use digital technology effectively and intelligently; and on the other, the psychosocial skills that form the foundation of positive mental health, resilience, and successful social and professional integration. Through these hybrid games—combining digital and paper-based elements—designed and developed in collaboration with public research bodies, Piki & Co positions itself as a key player in combating digital exclusion and in the fight against anxiety and depression, as well as risky behaviour.
At the origin of the project
The Piki & Co venture was founded by Amandine PIGUEL, a computer scientist and now CEO of Piki & Co, alongside two linguistics researchers from public research laboratories:
- Laurence SCHMOLL, Senior Lecturer in Language Teaching at the LiLPa laboratory (UR 1339, Linguistics, Languages, Speech – University of Strasbourg)
and
- Elodie OURSEL, Senior Lecturer at the SFL laboratory (UMR 7023 – Formal Structures of Language – CNRS and University of Paris 8)
In 2020, the project received initial funding from the CNRS (technology pre-maturation), followed in 2022 by significant support from CONECTUS (technology maturation), which enabled us to consult end-users, enhance the fun aspect whilst ensuring educational effectiveness, and prepare for the creation of the start-up Piki & Co, dedicated to market launch.
