LED CATALYST

A breakthrough technology for photopolymerization

Project description

This project involves the development of a new generation photocatalyst to crosslink polymers under LED light irradiation.

In a Conectus-funded prematuration, the team has already demonstrated that the photocatalyst offers much better results than existing techniques (thermal or UV). The latter often require a lot of energy, are extremely dangerous and are also sources of strong toxicity for the operator.

The added value of this photocatalyst is its efficiency and high reactivity at very low concentrations. It is also less toxic to operators and operating costs are lower.

Why does Conectus invest in this project?

Conectus' financial investment will make it possible to determine the range of use of this technology and to evaluate the properties of the materials obtained.

At the origin of the project:

Professor Jacques Lalevée of the Institute of Materials Science of Mulhouse IS2M (UMR 7361 CNRS-UHA)

Focus

Conectus is investing in this project: 230 000 €.
